Your opportunity

Join as a full-stack Developer to research, prototype and build an algorithm for a new type of recommendation engine. This job requires experience on how to developing algorithmic solutions, efficient database implementations and scalable architecture. Our ideal candidate has several years of experience in building and running scalable web applications, is reliable, fully committed, shares our passion for high-quality work and is looking for a professional remote freelance setup.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Research, prototype and build and algorithm for a new type of reco-engine
• Attend weekly sprint meetings / daily standups
• Setup / design AWS-based infrastructure
• Manage project and requirements of customer
• Write reusable, testable and efficient code

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Node.js (prefered), alternatively proficiency in Go, Swift, Java, or Python
• Expert knowledge in design, integration and optimisation of databases (SQL, NoSQL, GraphDB)
• Experience with reco-engine are a plus
• Experience with RESTful APIs and SOAP
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with rule engines / pattern matching is a plus
• Degree in math, physics or Computer Science is a strong plus
• Experience setting up and deploying staging/production environments
• Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds
• Knowledge about accessibility and security compliance
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Strong unit testing and debugging skills
• Experience with agile software development processes (Scrum, continuous integration, etc.)
• Experience to manage customer requirements, expectations and scope
• You share our passion for quality, reliability, and deliver what you committed
• Excellent communication skills
• You are officially registered as freelancer
• Fluency in English (spoken and written)
• Full dedication to the project (availability min. 40hrs/week)
• You are based in the European Union
• You can work on-site during on-boarding (~2 weeks)
